Juhai Branch of Cangzhou Dahua Co. Ltd. has introduced proprietary technology of Sweden International Chemical Inc. for the toluene diisocynate (TDI) project with annual production capacity of 50,000-tons. Annual production capacity is 50,000-tons of TDI and 47,000-tons of chlorine hydride (151,613-tons of hydrochloric acid). The company was founded on March 5, 2009. The TDI project with annual capacity of 50,000-tons had been approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. The Ministry of Environmental Protection approved its environmental assessment report with a total investment of RMB 1.23 billion. The project covers an area of 967 mu (666.6667 m2) with 883 employees. In August 2009, its TDI plant with annual production capacity of 50,000-tons was commissioned and entered a trial production stage. The company carried out multiple technical transformations, broke through bottlenecks of technologies, realized innovations for its equipment and carried out recycling and large recycling inside the Chemical Industry Park energy savings, emissions reductions and recycling of raw materials. The enterprise had built a DNT plant with annual production capacity of 60,000-tons and put into use in October 2010. In May 2012, DNT was transformed and its production capacity was increased to 90,000-tons. The company wouldl complete Phase I TDI plant with annual production capacity 70,000-tons and annual production capacity 100,000-tons by June 2012. TDI production capacity of Juhai Branch could reach 120,000-tons annually. Coupled with 300,000-tons production capacity of the original plant of Dahua Group TDI Co., Ltd., TDI production capacity of Dahua Group Co., Ltd. could reach 150,000-tons total. Construction of the TDI project symbolizes that Cangzhou may soon become the largest TDI production base in Northern China.
